When Quiana contacted us about her wedding, we thought it was a little ironic that a resident of the U.S. Virgin Islands would want to have her destination wedding at a little state park in North Florida. We’d heard of the Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center in Lake City, Florida, before but did not know what a jewel we had right down the road from us! The area was important to Quiana and Jon because of Jon’s family history. In fact, you’ll see the old “Adams” store front in some of the images below that belonged to Jon’s family.
This couple was a dream to work with! Quiana is a wedding photographer herself and really knew what she wanted in her pictures. The two of them are so photogenic! They just had fun and let us do what we do. It was so hard to choose the images to use for this post because there must have been over a thousand that looked just as great as the ones below.
As photographers in the wedding business, we usually get to take a breather around the first of the year. February is usually one of our few chances to vacation. Fortunately, the school system has a Winter break during this month as well. So this year, our mission was to find some snow. Well, little did we know that we could have stayed home and it would have found us! However, I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t have looked anything like this.
The cabin we stayed in belongs to a friend of ours and was absolutely perfect. It had a game room for the kids with a pool table, air hockey, fireplace, and sitting area with Halle’s favorite item….a TV! The cabin also has a hot tub out on the screened porch, which was pretty relaxing to be in the steamy water with snow falling all around you. (Images available upon request)…NOT! The main floor has a cozy fireplace with great lodge decor and a most beautiful view. There is also a loft master suite. Waking up to see the sun rise through the picture windows was amazing.
The name of the cabin we stayed in was Endless View.
Halle is now seven years old. She loves hamming it up for the camera as you will notice in just about all of her pictures.
Hannah is ten years old here.
As we were walking into this cozy restaurant to eat lunch a very nice lady offered to take a picture of the four of us. After a quick lesson on how to hold the camera, focus, and fire it off, we had a rare family portrait made. We were so impressed that she actually managed to get us in focus and not cut our feet or heads off. WOW.
We purchased tickets to Stone Mountain’s Snow Mountain just in case we didn’t find snow on our trip. It would have been a lot more impressive had we not almost been snowed in at the cabin and seen all the snow we wanted already.
